When exploring sleep disorders, a clinical investigation is the first step. The sleep specialist will conduct a clinical interview to collect the information needed to make a diagnosis. The patient will be asked about his/her condition during the day (thoughts, mood, social), his/her symptoms during sleep (dreams, involuntary movements, automatic behaviour, etc.), the history of his/her disorder such as treatments already started. However, the PSG, an essential tool for the therapeutic evaluation, is the only way for the physician to fully explore the patient’s condition.
